Here are some places for you to start a great day when in Irkutsk.

 

Zhito / Жито

Where: Sukhe-Bator street, 15а

What time: Monday – Friday from 8 a.m.

An extremely atmospheric place. It stands out from the cafes you have already been. For breakfast, you can have unusual sandwiches with a cup of fascinating herbal tea, and porridge. Your breakfast will be served very nicely. It is also one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the city.

Bliss / Блисс

What time: Monday – Friday from 8 am, Saturday – Sunday from 9 a.m.

Bliss has always been a favorite spot to grab some coffee when one has a break for whatever. But it’s also a very nice breakfast place. Here you can have some yoghurts, pastry, cakes, and sandwiches. They may go with some fragrant coffee or berry tea. Nice music is always played here making your breakfast twice as enjoyable.

The next two following places are located in a very nice spot of the city “130 Quarter”. This spot has been beloved among the Irkutsk citizens since 2011 when it was opened while the city was celebrating its 350th anniversary. It’s famous for lovely wooden houses built in old Russian style with amazing decorations came from the pagan time. These houses are accommodating different local shops and restaurants, cafes serving traditional Siberian food. Right at the beginning of the Quarter, there is a monument to the symbol of Irkutsk – Babr. If you touch its claws, all your wishes will come true.

What time: Monday – Sunday from 8:30 a.m.

Fresh salads and yummy sandwiches are good options for a fresh start of your day. Delicious desserts and fruit smoothies are a great addition. And a freshly brewed cup of coffee of cause. Take your time.

Here you can have a really king breakfast. Let’s see what is on the menu.

Fried eggs with bacon, tomatoes, and string beans.

Rice porridge with raspberry, or oatmeal porridge.

Cheese or chicken sandwiches.

Cheesecakes and granola.

Classical croissants or with jam fillings.

Waffles with ice-cream.

New Zealand pies / Новозеландские пироги

New Zealand pies

Where: Sverdlova street, 8

What time: Monday – Sunday from 8 a.m.

This lovely café was established by a couple from Irkutsk. Once they traveled to New Zealand and fell in love with local pies. Now they are sharing this pie love with us.

Here you can enjoy pies with different filling. Tastes differ, and your taste is taken into account.
